IELTS test has two versions: IELTS Academic to study abroad and IELTS General Training for work visas.
The IELTS Academic or General Training test are available on both paper or computer. Candidates can also take IELTS Online seating at their home depending on where they live.
The IELTS exam dates are available all year round. One can attempt the IELTS computer-based test on all seven days of the month excluding national holidays and major festivals. The IELTS Paper-delivered test dates are available for booking up to 4 times a month. The IELTS exam fees in India is INR 17,000. There is no PASS or FAIL in IELTS exam. It gives rating on a scale of 1 to 9, with one being the lowest and nine the highest. Remember, a good IELTS score can strengthen your application to top universities in world.
IELTS ELIGIBILITY
The main eligibility criteria for the IELTS exam 2025 is that you must be at least 16 years old at the time of the exam. There's no upper age limit.
There are no specific educational qualifications required to take the IELTS. However, it's important to consider these additional points:
- Validity: You'll need a valid passport as identification for the exam.
- University Requirements: While you can take the IELTS at 16, universities might have their own minimum score requirements for admission, so check their guidelines before applying. These scores are typically higher than the basic eligibility criteria (usually around 6.0 to 7.0 bands).
